A model who I wouldn’t consider to be one of my favourites but who does perform fantastically in print work is Suvi Koponen. The Finnish model lies back in some unused boat sails as the sun hits her face, creating interesting shadow patterns. An intriguing close-up, shot by Mikael Jansson.

An image that depicts how some of you may be spending your summer; lying in amongst the ropes and unused sails of a boat whilst sailing through the West Indies. If that’s not the case, then direct your eyes to this beautiful, light image of Suvi Koponen as an unearthly ship captain as conceived by the ever reliable Jansson/Templer duo.

Mikael Jansson’s summer fantasy editorials, replete with nautical themes and blue skies are complete perfection. Which is why this Vogue Nippon editorial entitled ‘Purity Of Heavens’ starring Suvi Koponen more than satisfies my sartorial eye. Featuring the Finnish model dressed in a clean look from Marni’s Spring/Summer 2007 collection and resting in amongst the sales of a ship it will be the perfect visual accompaniment to the upcoming summer months.

A shot of Irina Kulikova taken from one of Steven and Karl’s most memorable editorials, ‘Supermodels Go To Rehab’. I think Irina was legally too young to have gone to rehab back then, so she made the most of her time throwing cereal everywhere to annoy the staff. I kid.

This image, taken from the infamous ‘Rehab’ editorial is a soft, calm moment amongst three blondes; Lara and Agyness on the bed and Masha on the floor. The latter’s role in the editorial is a nice little surprise that often pop up in photos styled by Karl to complete the vision at hand.

One of the most memorable covers in recent years. Putting the Roberto Cavalli dress in bath water, only made it look better and Denisa pulls the look of perfectly, neither too glamorous nor too pedestrian.
